Miles Davis(1926-1991): trompetista y compositor yanki. Formo parte de grupos importantes con jazzistas también grosos como Charlie Parker o John Coltrane.
Su carrera recorre la historia del jazz a lo largo de toda la segunda mitad del siglo XX, caracterizándose por su constante evolución y búsqueda de nuevos caminos artísticos.

Charlie Parker, considerado como el mejor saxofonista de la historia , y Davis comenzaron a tocar juntos en la banda de Billy Eckstine alrededor de 1944, y luego Davis pasó la mayor parte de su tiempo tocando como respaldo de Parker.

Coltrane, saxofonista (tenor y soprano) y compositor estadounidense, y Davis formaron parte de un quinteto junto al pianista Red Garland, el bajo Paul Chambers y el batería Philly Joe Jones.

- John Coltrane
John Coltrane(1926-1967): saxofonista (tenor y soprano) y compositor, sin duda se trata de uno de los músicos más relevantes e influyentes de la historia del jazz.
Una de las aportaciones más reseñables de Coltrane es la que se refiere a la extensión de los solos de jazz, al eliminar cualquier límite temporal a los mismos y dejar su extensión al arbitrio de las necesidades del intérprete (de ahí que muchos temas de Coltrane sobrepasen, por ejemplo, los treinta minutos)
